交通有限的前身深圳城交中心系根据深圳市机构编制委员会下发的《关于成立市深港城市与交通规划研究中心及市规划设计院机构编制问题的批复》（深编[1993]040号）成立的事业单位，成立时名称为“深圳市深港城市与交通规划研究中心”，1996年5月7日根据《关于市深港城市与交通规划研究中心、市城市规划设计研究院更名问题的批复》（深编办[1996]045号）更名为“深圳市城市交通规划研究中心”并独立运作。2007年10月18日，深圳市工商局核发《名称预先核准通知书》（[2007]第1147047号），核准深圳城交中心改制后的企业名称为“深圳市城市交通规划设计研究中心有限公司”。2019年9月3日，交通有限召开股东会2019年第四次临时会议，审议通过了《关于公司整体变更为股份公司的议案》。全体股东一致同意以发起方式将公司由有限责任公司整体变更为股份有限公司。2019年12月17日，深圳市市监局向发行人核发了统一社会信用代码为91440300671877217N的《营业执照》。公司业务聚焦于城市交通领域，以交通大数据分析为基础，为客户提供城市交通整体解决方案，具体业务包括规划咨询、工程设计和检测、大数据软件及智慧交通等。公司客户主要为政府部门及其下属单位、国有企业等，业务结构以规划咨询、大数据软件及智慧交通为主，工程设计和检测为辅。公司拥有城乡规划编制甲级、工程咨询甲级、工程设计甲级、公路工程检测综合甲级等多项资质。通过20多年的业务积累，具备了“以大数据分析为基础、以交通（治理）协同规划为引领、以品质设计为支撑、以集成建设为实践、以智慧运维为反馈”的城市交通整体解决方案能力。建立了一支高学历、多学科、经验丰富的业务团队，人员规模超过1,600人，其中硕士以上学历比例超过40%。公司业务立足深圳与粤港澳大湾区、服务全国，是深圳市交通发展、综合治理和轨道交通规划建设的重要技术支撑单位，相继完成了深圳市整体交通规划、深圳市城市交通白皮书、深圳市综合交通“十二五”和“十三五”规划、福田中心区交通设施及空间环境综合提升工程设计、深圳市综合交通大数据支撑平台总体方案等一系列代表性的重点项目，并将业务推广到全国。公司坚持自主创新、技术领先的发展战略，作为城市交通领域的国家级高新技术企业和广东省新型研发机构，拥有综合交通大数据应用技术国家工程实验室深圳中心、广东省交通信息工程技术研究中心等重点科研平台，牵头成功申报了“城市交通智能治理大数据计算平台及应用示范”、“城市地面基础设施群运行保障关键技术研究与应用示范”等国家重点研发计划项目，同时与境内外诸多一流高校和知名企业开展了业务合作。公司获得了全国优秀规划设计一等奖、中国土木工程詹天佑奖、华夏建设科学技术奖一等奖等各类奖项。
